2024 West Coast Games Team PNW Preview: Catchers

Dylan Grenz
Associate Scout

On Friday, October 4th through Sunday, October 6th, top uncommitted 2025 prospects and select 2026 prospects will participate in the 2024 PBR West Coast Games. This three-day event held at three premier venues will consist of a pro-style workout on day one, followed by two days of gameplay over the weekend.

Prep Baseball's West Coast Games serves as a premier event for uncommitted rising upperclassmen on the West Coast. The event will give an unparalleled opportunity to each player in attendance by delivering a “one-stop-shop” for college coaches to recruit. Beyond the on-looking eyes of scouts and coaches, Prep Baseball's unmatched coverage and commitment to elevating players via advanced metrics and technology (Trackman, Blast Motion and Vizual Edge), along with multiple social media platforms, will provide elite exposure for each player in attendance.

Today, we begin our preview of Team PNW by highlighting the catchers. Prospects are listed alphabetically by last name. Stay tuned on PBR social media channels the coming week for further West Coast Games content, including further team previews, full roster breakdowns, and unveiling pitching rotations.

Strong framed righty with tools. Features longer, loopy swing with ability to hit the ball hard in the air. Sound pitch framer with minimal wasted movement. Consistent throwdowns in the 2 second pop time range. Another veteran of multiple invite-only PBR events.

Kellen Wood C / Mountainside, OR / 2025

One of the top remaining bats in the '25 OR class. True power to all fields with batspeed and short-to-long approach. Peaked with a 98.2 MPH exit velo at a recent PBR ID event. Solid fundamentally behind the plate with a plus arm, flashed a 1.93 second pop time.
