This Future Games Spotlight series will highlight and take a deeper dive into the player performances from Team Virginia/DC's week at Future Games, as well as an overall report on what we have seen from these players over the past year.

Mandela Browman OF / Miller School of Albemarle, VA / 2026

5-foot-10, 161-pound frame. Athletic actions and compact strength that translates into his game. Square stance at the plate, higher hands that are pre-set back, and sinks into his lower half on load. Quick level path, above average hand and bat speed, and has an aggressive approach to his in game at bats. Started his week of with a bang, turning out a 6.58 60 and leading off game one with a triple to deep left center. Browman was very aggressive early in counts, producing contact and a few well struck balls within the first two to three pitches of counts.

In the past he has shown some versatility to his offense, using the bunt in some early counts and working some two strike counts, but this week it seemed like he wanted to open it up and bit and show his ability to impact the baseball. His premium run tool not only makes him an asset out of the box and on the bases, but can cover a lot of ground in the outfield.

Is one of the more complete outfielders in the state. Possesses the footspeed and reads to stay in center, above average arm strength, and gets his body in solid position to set up throws.

Logan Clark OF / RHP / Halifax County, VA / 2026

6-foot-1, 180-pound frame with long levers and lean strength. Some loud, raw tools that were on display during the workout. Well above average hand (<25.5 mph) and bat speed (<83.4 mph), elite rotation (<31 g), and heavy barrels with present power to pull. 398 foot max distance during BP to go along with one of the event best exit velos, 102.7 mph.

The run tool is above average. Clark is a consistent sub 6.9 runner. While on the bases Clark was pretty aggressive, swiping a few bags on the week.

Defensively, he has well above average arm strength and has shown the ability to be a solid defender in the outfield. In particular, Jordan Jones got a chance to see him this spring and had high praise for some in game routes and plays on balls hit that he had to range laterally for.

The in game offense is raw and still needs to show consistent and competitive at bats versus higher level arms. He had a loud 2 RBI hit versus South Carolina that came off the bat at 100 mph. The strength and ability to impact is real, he just needs to get to it more often.

Ben Drinkwine OF / 3B / Lightridge, VA / 2026

Drinkwine may have some of the best combination of power, strength, and athleticism. 6-foot-2, 210-pound frame that has leaned out quite well and functions well within his game. Consistent sub 7 runner who turned out a 6.86 at State Games and 6.92 at Future Games. Aggressive baserunner and gets above average jumps and solid reads on pitches down. Made an impact on the bases when he reached.

Reached base via walk a few times and had a backside double in the Friday night game. Square and evenly proportioned setup at the plate, direct stride forward, finishes with a wider base, and walks away from his hands creating separation. Above average hand speed and higher end bat speed allows him to make that turn and get the barrel through with the ability to impact the baseball. Has been more hit than power throughout our half dozen or so looks since early spring. There is power potential/raw power in the swing, just needs to show it more frequently in game.

Defensive profile is corner outfield. Above average arm strength, more than athletic and tools enough to play both corners, and could also play some first base. Plays third base in high school and is fine in that setting, but for the next level I feel like the above is where he fits.

Cameron Duke OF / LHP / CHURCHLAND HIGH, VA / 2026

Compact 5-foot-9, 160-pound frame. Above average runner (6.78 60), hit tool type of bat, and has shown the ability to spray it around with line drives. Hit for average type of offense and will show some occasional doubles. Above average bat speed, stays in a really tight window on the turn, and hands stay inside throughout the swing. Small lift and hover to foot strike and tends to get out over front side just a bit. When we saw him during high school and early this summer, the bat has flashed some adjustability, especially down in the zone.

Defensively, Duke is an above average defender in centerfield. Footspeed and range to go and get it from gap to gap. Arm strength is average and is more center/left profile.

Brady Elrod OF / RHP / Hanover, VA / 2026

Like Drinkwine, Elrod is a physical and athletic outfielder. 6-foot, 176-pound frame with lean strength and some explosive athleticism. Plays the game fast.

6.71 60, power run, and the footspeed and tools to play all three in the outfield. Above average arm strength in the outfield and sets up his throws well.

Offensively it is a wider base, no stride, heel lift, and a small coil load. The minimal movement in the pre-pitch, I feel, takes away some of his athleticism and power potential, but he does possess a strong bat to ball rate. While I think he could get to higher quality impact and some power more frequently with a few adjustments, he still does a solid job of impacting the baseball. Had a very loud triple into left center on Friday night and had multiple singles throughout the rest of his at bats.

Works counts, high contact rate, the potential to impact the baseball in a big way, and is an aggressive, instinctive baserunner. Just a player I feel confident in saying, will be a special player down the road. Has a high floor and plenty of ceiling still left. The athleticism will afford him the chance to make adjustments as he continues to mature and has the present tools to impact the game at the next level.
