This Future Games Spotlight series will highlight and take a deeper dive into the player performances from Team Virginia/DC's week at Future Games, as well as an overall report on what we have seen from these players over the past year.

Evan Salapka RHP / ATLEE HIGH, VA / 2026

Long and thin 6-foot-5, 190-pound frame for the Atlee right hander. Salapka has a longer hand break and arm action, moving down the mound and landing closed. He has some crossfire to the fastball when working to the glove side and can sink it to the arm side. The fastball worked its usual upper 80's, sitting 87-89 mph. Effective usage of the 75-77 mph slider. Salapka was very efficient in the zone and got some weak contact and groundballs.

Salapka was used in more short relief, close types of situations in high school and he thrived in that setting. Pitchability, throws three pitches for strikes, can spin in just about any count, and knows how to pitch in close games. This arm has made a big jump in the past 8-10 months and I would expect the strength that will potentially be added as he matures will definitely allow for another jump in the velo department.
