Commitments from around the state:
Eben Brooks, a an athletically built 6-foot-2, 190-pound RHP from Murphysboro HS, has committed to John A. Logan JC. Brooks emerged over the summer and fall seasons as a player to pay close attention to after he showcased his 85-88 mph fastball and sharp breaking ball. Brooks and LHP Dylan Craig (Illinois State) should comprise one of the best 1-2 pitching duos in the state.
Two Granite City outfielders are off the board. Cody Spanberger, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound athlete, has committed to Southeast Missouri State. Kaleb Depew has committed to Maryville University.
Neil Hanley, a strong-bodied catcher from Ottawa HS, has committed to Heartland CC.
Alex Miramontes, a 5-foot-11, 170-pound RHP from Palatine HS, has committed to Roosevelt University. As a junior, Miramontes posted a 6-2 record for the Pirates.
