Division II
#4 Steward 12 - #1 Miller School 15
Steward put up nine unanswered to make it 10-1, but Miller would come charging back in the fifth. The Mavericks scored fourteen over the next two innings and would close this one out with a 15-12 final score. Miller School was led by the bats of Garrett Payne, Jeremy Wagner, and Lucas Adams who all went big fly in the later innings. The Mavericks will advance to the Div. II championship Saturday versus Highland School.
#3 Highland School 7 - #2 Greenbrier Christian 2
The Highland School would get an outstanding performance from sophomore Ed Wagner on the mound. Wagner threw a complete game and scattered five hits over his seven innings of work. The Hawks scored all seven runs in the second and third innings. Eddie Gimbel, who was a double shy of the cycle, and Dylan Fisher would lead the way for the Hawks at the plate as they rolled to a 7-2 win. Highland will face off with top seeded Miller School on Saturday.
Division I
#5 Cape Henry 5 - #1 Benedictine 15
Cape Henry would grab an early 4-1 lead, but Benedictine would come roaring back with the help of Jamari Baylor, Brett Cook, and Jay Woolfolk. Baylor and Woolfolk both hit homeruns in the third inning, in which the Cadets scored eleven runs. Brett Allen was solid in relief for the Cadets, throwing three innings of three hit ball. Benedictine won this one with a final score of 15-5 over Cape Henry and will face the winner of Collegiate and St. Christopher's on Saturday evening in the Division I state championship.
The St. Christopher's v Collegiate game was suspended in the fourth inning and will pick up on Sunday morning. St. Christopher's currently have a 3-1 lead.
