Upperclass Stats Day: Stats Breakdown

The Upperclass Stats Day took place on Saturday September 7th at Dunham High School. The open event saw 20+ uppererclass prospects from across the state of Louisiana.

We begin our instant analysis from Saturday’s event with a look at some top statistical performers. We measured six separate categories and we’ll detail the leaders in each category below.

7+ players turned in sub-7.10 second 60s on Saturday. Joshwel Caminero (Bonnabel HS, LA) turned in the top 60-yard dash time of the event, posting a 6.83-second time. While Tyler Fitch (Dunham HS, LA) and Sh’god Jones (Scotlandville HS, LA) both turned in sub-7.00 times as they both posted at time of 6.89-seconds.

Kent Pellerin (Episcopal HS, LA) led the way on the mound, as the athletic 6-foot right-hander showed off a quality three-pitch mix, and ran his fastball up to an event best 83 mph. While Trip Flotte (Central Private HS, LA) also showed well on Saturday, running his fastball up to 81 mph.

Joshwel Caminero (Bonnabel HS, LA) and Brody Knapps (Central(BR) HS, LA) led the exit velocity leaderboard from Saturday, each posting 92 mph off a tee. While Mason Modica (Dunham HS, LA) and Landon Morrow (St. Thomas More HS, LA) also showed off high-level strength and bat speed, posting a 90 mph exit velocities. 

Landon Morrow (St. Thomas More HS, LA) showed off arm strength on Saturday, posting an event best 87 mph positional velocity from the infield. While Joshwel Caminero (Bonnabel HS, LA) also found himself at the top of the leaderboard, posting a positional velocity of 86 mph.

Tyler Fitch (Dunham HS, LA) topped the leaderboard with an event best 90 mph positional velocity from the outfield, while D’Brendon Hill (Terrebonne HS, LA) checked-in right behind him with an 86 mph positional velocity. 

Landon Morrow (St. Thomas More HS, LA) posted an event best 80 mph positional velocity for catchers, while also posting a 2.25-second pop time. While Logan Serpas (Bowling Green HS, LA) also found himself atop the leaderboard, posting a 72 mph positional velocity, as well as an event best 2.11-second pop time.
