A jam-packed summer season has concluded, leaving with it the remnants of successful showings from the top players in the 2021 class. Stepping through the high school doors as juniors and upperclassmen, the group has graduated to the prospect level as professional scouts begin to build longer tracker records and follow progressions moving forward.

The summer unveiled numerous advancements made by players all across the country as well as introducing new ones that popped up. PBR’s boots-on-the-ground staff scoured the nation with the commitment to providing the most credible and reliable information in amateur baseball, and culminated the summer with the PBR Future Games, at LakePoint in Georgia, to put an exclamation point on the season as more than 300 college coaches packed the facility to see the top uncommitted underclass players compete against each other.

The top 10 in the class remains relatively unchanged with the exception of dynamic CF Tyree Reed (Vacaville HS, CA), who jumps to No. 9. An elite athlete with a strong chance to stick in center field, the 6-foot-2, 175-pound, uncommitted left-handed hitter has advanced feel for the barrel with current gap-to-gap power that will likely see an increase as his frame continues to fill out. He shows no issue handling elite pitching in the class, and has clearly cemented himself as a name to know moving forward.

Fellow Californian, RHP Eric Silva (Laguna Beach HS, CA), a UCLA recruit, made a big jump throughout the summer, showcasing a mid-90s fastball with two potential plus secondary pitches in a sharp slider and power changeup. His loose, whippy arm and athleticism should provide for continued advancements in the future. He jumps into the top 25.

Ripping off sliders at 77-79 with more than 3000 RPMs, uncommitted RHP/SS Jackson Jobe (Heritage Hall HS, OK) shined at the Future Games where he demonstrated the stuff necessary to be a potential frontline starter at the next level. Wiry-athletic at 6-foot-2, 180 pounds with a quick arm, Jobe ran his fastball up to 89 mph at the event, and will likely continue to see an uptick as he continues filling out. Jobe’s high-ceiling and ability to get swings and misses catapulted him into the top 100.

Another strong-armed athlete with advanced feel for spin, uncommitted RHP/3B Caleb Logerwell (Homeschool, GA), moves into the top 100 after a strong showing throughout the summer. The sink to his upper-80s fastball, and sharpness to a firm slider that runs up into the upper 70s gives him the potential for two above average pitches.

2019 PBR Future Games MVP, SS/CF Sam Petersen (Ballard HS, IA), enters the list for the first time in the top 150 after dominating the back half of the summer after the Iowa high school season had concluded. His blue-collar approach pairs well with elite athleticism.

Overall, the class is clearly prepared to excel moving forward. The balance of front end arms, elite athletes up the middle, and power hitters is sure to have scouts glued to their progression.

And you can count on PBR being there every step of the way…
