Unsigned senior event spotlight: C Eric Ludwick (Liberty)

 

Physical: 6-foot-4, 200 pounds; Physical projectable frame. 7.5 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Relaxed upright in the box; simple and able to be repeated each swing. explosive lower half throughout the entire movement with flat and slightly uphill with the ability to hit for power at the next level; 15 degree bat angle into the zone via Blast Motion. Ludwick is able to produce 10 G’s of force with an on-plane efficiency of 65%.  Power to pull side and gap power to opposite field ; average Trackman exit velocity of 90.82 MPH; peak exit velo was 95 MPH.
Defensively: Quiet feet and hands; works under the ball well and beats it to the location. Transfer is smooth; can quicken his feet up to get into a better position come release ; short arm action with carry on the ball. 1.95-2.06 pop times. C - 76 MPH.

 

 

Physical: 6-4, 215-pounds. Tall strong, physical frame. 7.79 runner in the 60; 4.71 home-to-1B.
Offensively: RHH. Tall upright stance, feet shoulder width apart, high leg kick timing the pitcher, hands shoulder high with bat behind head, simple load action Upward swing through the zone, strong hands at the point of contact, two handed finish. Power pull side/ line drive contact. 92 MPH raw exit velocity.
Defensively: 2.03-2.05 pop times. Compact setup: gains ground out in front with an efficient transfer that leads into a short stroke arm action; high 3/4 arm slot, stayed around the bag. C - 76 MPH

 

 

6-foot-4, 215-pound right-handed hitter put together one of the top rounds of batting practice at the event. Starts from a square stance and utillzes a leg-lift stride to begin. Hands works well through contact leading to consistent back spin with present gap power. Registered a bat exit velocity of 91 mph and ran a 7.61 60-yard dash. Above average defender behind the dish showcase solid 78 mph arm strength out of the crouch with pop times of 2.08-2.14.

 

 

Physical 6-foot-4, 215-pound right-handed hitter. Starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a big leg-lift stride. Showcased a strong lower half with a feel for the barrel and some present power. Registered a bat exit velocity of 90 mph and ran a 7.89 60-yard dash. Showed sound defensive abilities behind the dish with pop times of 2.08-2.15 and 73 mph arm strength out of the crouch. Transition in throwing motion is very efficient and flashed good carry through the bag. Also displayed an ability to play through the baseball in the outfield with accurate 83 mph arm strength.
