Unsigned Senior Spotlight: SS/2B Zachary Vrbancic

On Jan. 13, at The MAX sports facility in McCook, Ill., PBR will be hosting the winter's Unsigned Senior Showcase. You can find registration information within the previous hyperlink, but we’ll use this post today, as well as the posts following this one leading up to this week’s event, to shine the light on a few of the attending prospects who merit specific mentioning.
Returning to starting shortstop at Stagg is Zachary Vrbancic, a right-handed hitting middle infielder who plays at a high energy. The 6-foot, 168-pound atheltically-built, unsigned senior was no stranger to PBR events in 2018, consistently showing a reliable glove and the ability to stick on the infield. Vrbancic should be one of the top defensive middle infielder in attendance on Sunday.

10/7/18 - 6-foot, 168-pound, athletically-built, right-handed hitting infielder. Offensively, balanced setup, hands separate and short heel-raise stride. Level bat path through the zone and registered an 86 mph exit velocity from a tee. Defensively, quick actions, plays with pace, reliable hands and quick release. Short arm action, high ¾ slot, accurate throws, topped at 79 mph across the diamond. 7.43 runner in the 60, laser-timed.
2/19/18 - 6-foot, 163-pound, athletically built, right-handed hitting infielder. At the plate, starts at the front of the box, open setup, short stride. Pull approach, long path and 79 mph exit velocity from a tee. On the infield, clean transfer, winds up at times, throws out of a high ¾ slot, throws clocked at 77 mph across the diamond. 7.55 runner in the 60.
1/27/18 - 6-foot, 163-pound right-handed hitting middle infielder. At the plate, balanced setup, slight leg-lift trigger. Level swing path, fluid rhythm; 86 mph exit velocity from a tee. Defensively, quick footwork, clean exchange; throws from a high ¾ slot, 73 mph in the infield. 7.56 runner in the 60.
