Unsigned Senior Spotlight: RHP Sam Killian

On Sept. 23, our staff hosted Senior Games at Kapco Park in Mequon, Wis., an invite-only showcase for the area’s top uncommitted seniors. We’ve already published the event’s Statistical Analysis, and we’ll have position-by-position breakdowns a little further down the road. Until then, check out some of the showcase’s top unsigned prospects who merit mentioning over the next couple of weeks within this spotlight.

Mequon produced a handful of next-level uncommitted arms and among them was RHP Sam Killian (Independence). The lanky, long-legged righty gave us our first in-person look at his live arm earlier in the summer at the Western Wisconsin Open in Eau Claire. There, Killian’s fastball touched 84 mph and played up with its hard run. The Independence ace’s arm works loose and clean and, given his frame, has a unique upside that is hard to find this late in the recruiting process. Killian is climbing the charts on the Wisconsin rankings in his senior season and might not be overlooked for long.
