Over the last few weeks, the PBR Illinois staff has been covering the state's senior class by detailing the destinations the prospects are headed. From the Big Ten to the Atlantic Sun, we've been providing analysis and the latest notes on the future homes of the top talent in Illinois. Today, we're shining a light on the prospects who do not yet have landing spots for the fall of 2020.
Throughout the rest of this week, we'll highlight some names who deserve a little more attention as they prepare for the final spring seasons of their high school careers.
UNCOMMITTED SPOTLIGHT
7/29/18 - High-motor center fielder who play the game hard and fast. Left-handed thrower, right-handed hitter, leadoff spot. Short compact swing, flat through contact, line-drive-type hitter, hard-contact guy, occasional pop off the bat. Center field defender, smooth actions, well above-average runner, easy actions, comfortable tracking the baseball. Average arm for his age
2/19/18 - 5-foot-8, 160-pound, strong, right handed hitting, left handed throwing outfielder. At the plate, balanced, slightly open setup, quick leg kick trigger, balanced throughout swing. Flashes bat speed, compact, level bat path, exit velocity of 84 mph off a tee. Defensively, quick feet, steady hands, plays through the ball, short arm action, high ¾ slot, throws topped 79 mph from the outfield.
1/29/17 - 5-foot-8, 160-pound right-handed hitting outfielder. At the plate hits from a balanced setup with a short stride. Uphill swing path with a fast bat. Showed strength thru contact with 84 mph exit velocity from a tee. 4.32 runner down the line. Defensively has a long arm action from an over the top slot. Plays thru the ball with average hands. Threw 77 mph from the outfield.
