Scouting Report

10/06/19: 6-foot-3, 200-pound projectable frame; LHP/1B. On the mound, where he showed above average arm speed to the plate, he had a ¾ arm angle and a medium arm action. He is a tall-to-fall type delivery. His fastball sat 81-83 mph; with a max of 84 mph;  has very consistent accuracy and hard action on fastball. Threw a sinking curveball 66-70 with accuracy. His changeup regularly came in at 73-75 mph. 

2/16/2019: Kyle Cortner, LHP/1B, Cathedral HS, 2020, 6 foot 3, 200 pounds, throws from a mid ¾ slot, medium arm action, and simple, repeatable delivery. Fastball sat 82-83 with some asr. CB was 1/7 shape and thrown for strikes at 68-71. CH had some downward action and sat 73-76. Offensively, Kyle ran a 7.76, and had a max exit velo of 79. Uses a larger hand load and cuts finish off at the plate. Had good 1B actions and had an infield velocity of 82 mph.

10.14.17: 6-foot-1, 145 pound, good frame and size, delivery is repeatable down the mound with short, stiff arm action. Left hander had 2-seam run and sink on the fastball, sitting 74-77, topping at 78. Good direction and level shoulders with easy effort, threw strikes. Curveball was thrown with 1/7 break, sat 65-67. Changeup was arm side at 71-72.   60 Time: 8.0, Position Velocity: INF-74,,Exit Velocity: 756-foot-1, 145 pound sophomore left handed hitting first baseman uses short stride and load to swing, long bat path through the hitting zone. Tall, long setup stays balanced throughout, small arm bar to enter the hitting zone. Slightly uphill, line drive approach at the plate, consistent barrels in BP rounds, more length and strength to fill out out swing and frame. Projectable left handed first baseman, feet choppy to field and throw, short stride and arm action from high ¾ slot across the diamond. Delivered accurate throws with below average arm strength. More velocity to gain.
