Unsigned Senior Spotlight: LHP Isaiah Strassburg

Things have started to heat up for LHP Isaiah Strassburg (Chippewa Falls, 2014) after the Unsigned Senior Showcase in October. Strassburg showed well in his bullpen, working from a long, ¾ arm slot his fastball has arm side run, and shows occasional late life he showed control at 80-82 mph. His slider has good lateral action at 72-76 mph on a 10/4 plane flashing occasional sharp action.
Since his performance at the Unsigned Senior Showcase, Strassburg has been on a visit to UW-Stout and is planning another visit to UW-Oshkosh. Along with Stout and Oshkosh, Strassburg has also been inconsistent contact with Northpark.
The 6-foot-2 southpaw said he would like to make a decision right before his senior season starts but if he finds the perfect fit before then he won’t hesitate to commit.
Chippewa Falls is coming off of a rough 5-11 season where they were riddled with errors and a lack of pitching. Going into his senior season Strassburg hopes to bolster the Cardinal pitching staff. The Cardinals should be in better shape in 2014 as they return nearly every starter from last year and will be very senior heavy.
