On Oct. 7, at The MAX sports facility in McCook, Ill., PBR will be hosting the fall’s Unsigned Senior Showcase. You can find registration information within the previous hyperlink, but we’ll use this post today, as well as the posts following this one leading up to this week’s event, to shine the light on a few of the attending prospects who merit specific mentioning.

This Sunday, Cary-Grove INF L.J. Waco (2019) will be joining us at The MAX for the fall’s Unsigned Senior Showcase. We’ve seen Waco a couple of times already in 2018, at Preseason All-State in February and much more recently at Senior Games at Triton College, and he’s consistently demonstrated a next-level offensive toolset – though, it was clear he’s taken some demonstrable strides at the dish over the past six-plus months. Waco produced one of the top exit velocities at Senior Games and displayed a more gap-to-gap approach in the right-handed batter’s box. While his offense trends higher and higher, his defense remains solid. He has fluid feet and picks grounders with rhythm. Waco’s well-rounded set of present tools make him an interesting unsigned infielder, who’s shown he’s still getting better.
