Aaron Fadden, OF, Gull Lake HS, 2013
Fadden is a ballplayer. The versatile Fadden showed he can do it on the mound and in the field. On the mound he displayed good arm strength at 80-83 mph with a loose easy arm. In the field he displayed a good approach to the ball attacking it consistently. He also had strong accurate throws on the bag. His positional velocity registered at 84mph. At the plate he takes a smooth balanced approach and showed some pop potential.
PBR: Where are you currently in the recruiting process?
Fadden: I am currently having conversations with a couple of D-3 schools. I have also exchanged emails with a couple of D-1 schools. I am also contacting a few Junior College's.
PBR: What level of baseball do you see yourself playing at the next level?
Fadden: My goal is to play D-1 baseball and I am working hard to get there. My preference would be to sign with a D-1 school out of High School but I am open to developing my skills at the JUCO level.
PBR: What schools are you most interested in right now, and why?
Fadden: My ideal primary picks would be WMU and CMU. They are Michigan schools with competitive and established baseball programs. I have seen WMU play and have dreamed of playing there as a kid. I believe Coach Gernon is building a great program and I would love to be part of it. I have had interaction with the CMU coach's and facilities because of a team mate who has committed to CMU. I am very impressed with their coaching and program.
PBR: What aspect of your game do you believe needs the most improvement?
Fadden: My primary improvement needs to be strength to improve my measurables. I want to be able to hit with more power on a more consistent basis. Also, I want to move my position throwing speed from 87 to the low 90's and reduce my 60 time from 6.9 to 6.7 or lower.
PBR: Who is the best player you have played against in the state?
Fadden: Joel Seddon - he was a right hand pitcher from St Clair who went to South Carolina - he threw 88 mph with a nasty slider. I hit the ball hard 2 times but was unable to produce a base hit - both were fast balls.
PBR: As a player what is your greatest strength?
Fadden: My greatest strength is my head for the game and my arm strength from the outfield. I enjoy throwing behind a guy at first or third from center field when they are not paying attention - I also love rounding a base and reading a lazy approach by the fielder and turn it into an extra base.
PBR: How did your summer and fall seasons end?
Fadden: I had a great summer season with Coach Harris and the Warriors followed by a great fall season with Bill Peterson playing for the Diamonds. I have accepted a starting position with the Diamonds playing for Bill Peterson in the summer of 2013.
PBR: What are your high school team goals for the 2013 season?
Fadden: The teams goal is to make it to and win the State Finals. We also want to win the SMAC East again this year.
PBR: What is your GPA? ACT or SAT score?
Fadden: My cumulative GPA is 3.3 and my ACT is a 20. I am scheduled to take the ACT again in December 2012.
PBR: Have you decided on a major or narrowed it down?
Fadden: I would like to go into the health field. I am currently exploring Physical Therapy and have job shadowed a physical therapist through my health science class. It is very interesting and I am moving in that direction.
