Unsigned Senior Showcase Spotlight: RHP Blake Oesterblad

By Drew Locascio
Illinois Scouting Director

On Jan. 12, at The MAX sports facility in McCook, Ill., PBR will be hosting the winter's Unsigned Senior Showcase. You can find registration information within the previous hyperlink, but we’ll use this post today, as well as the posts following this one leading up to this week’s event, to shine the light on a few of the attending prospects who merit specific mentioning.

Blake Oesterblad (Loyola Academy) emerged as an arm to follow at an event this summer. Oesterblad, a 6-foot-4, 200-pound, physical, strong-bodied, right-hander sat 82-85 mph, touching 86. Oesterblad also flashed a sharp slider with late bite.

Oesterblad is one of the top arms still on the market in Illinois and should be a high-interest prospect come Sunday.
