J. Paul Fullerton is a 6-foot-1, 185 pound, catcher from Harding Academy. As a sophomore he hit .449 and drove in 28 runs. Defensively he shut down the running game throwing out 60 percent of runners. He was rewarded for his hard work being named an all-conference performer.
Fullerton is an athletic built catcher throws 1.93-1.97 pop time. He receives well; he works through the ball sticking them in the strike zone. He blocks well, working hard to get around balls. I would like to see him work more linear throwing to second; however he does throw on the bag. Offensively he has a line drive swing that is compact. He has power to the pull side. He would benefit from him firing the lower half on a consistent basis. J. Paul has an advanced approach to the game. He is very vocal and commands the game well. Academically he is a sound student with a 3.7 GPA.
