TJ Hunt
Director, PBR New Jersey

With the fall season finally wrapped up it is time to highlight some of the top performers from each of the showcases by position. This fall's talent was outstanding, led by numerous top performers at each position and from different grade levels. A mixture of both committed and uncommitted players, the series of Underclassmen and Upperclassmen event performers made this fall stand out from others.

Take a look at the top Outfield Statistics from the event:

Daniel Roman OF / OF / Cliffside Park, NJ / 2021

Exit velocity topped at 83 MPH. At the plate, Roman starts in a balanced, athletic stance with a slight bend to his knees. His hands a stationed above his back shoulder. Short, smooth hand load that goes straight back and a small stride to start his swing. Short, quick stroke to the baseball and uses extension in hands to create line drive pop. In the outfield, throws topped at 78 MPH. Short, quick arm action from an over-the-top  slot. Throws were on target with carry. Roman was one of the top overall prospects to come out of this event and will be one of the top ranked 2021s.

As pitch arrives, Czarnecki uses a big foot stride that starts with his front leg moving backward to his back leg, then forward to its landing position. Hands load down and back. When front foot lands, Czarnecki’s hips turn while hands are still locked back, creating some elasticity and torque in his swing. Short, quick and balanced in his finish, Czarnecki routinely found the barrel in BP and in gameplay. From the OF, throws topped at 75 MPH. Short, quick arm action from a high-¾ slot.

Ryan Dacey OF / RHP / Don Bosco Prep, NJ / 2021

Offensively, Dacey stood out as a top performer and routinely made loud contact in the game and in BP. On the mound, fastball topped at 78 MPH and sat mostly 76-77. Showed a curveball with 11/5 break at 66-68, too. Long, loose arm action from a high-¾ slot. Uphill shoulders as he descends down the mound and drop and drive with back leg.
