Uncommitted Spotlight: Quentin Anguay

We continue our coverage of uncommitted players, spotlighting them to help maximize their exposure and assist them in the recruiting process. Today, we look at 2023 Quntin Anguay out of Bishop Gorman.

Positional ProfilePossessed some of the smoothest actions at the Top Prospect regardless of class. Projects to stay up the middle. Could see his overall game improve as his foot speed continues to progress. Held his own at the plate against the older classes proving he could be eventually be a top of the order bat. 
 

Body5-foot-10, 150 pounds. Athletic, youthful build. Proportionate frame with broad shoulders that leave him plenty of room to add size and strength.
 

Defense: Athleticism shines through defensively. Positions himself well receiving quality hops as he displays clean actions through the ball. Presented his glove well with quality footwork. Has the ability to range to both the forehand and backhand side with comfort in the back hand play already present.
 

Arm: RH. 79 mph. Short, quick arm action from high 3/4 slot. Some carry with accuracy. Has the ability to change arm slots to maintain fluidity through the fielding process.
 

Hit: RHH. Starts in a slightly wide, athletic base. Hands head high with a small sink into his back side load. Uses a small hanging leg kick with a negative hand push to create separation. Shows projectable hand speed with a slightly steep hand path through the zone as he finishes with his weight slightly over his front side and a high one handed finish. Produced a line drive filled BP round with the ball sprayed all over the field. Lined a base hit to RF during game play. 
 

Power: 93.7 mph Exit Velocity via TrackMan. 
 

Run: 7.45 Laser Timed
