Thomas Nichols: 2B/RHP, (2023) Madison central, MS. 5-foot-9, 155-pound athletic frame. During batting practice, the right-handed hitters best exit velocity was 73 mph. In the infield, his position velocity was registered at 74 mph; had sure hands, consistent footwork and a fluid clean exchange. Has an-over-the-top slot. In the 60-yard dash, his time was 7.72. On the mound, used an over-the-top angle. Uses some effort in his delivery. Lands closed. Sat with his fastball at 70-72 mph with a max of 72 mph. Curveball (66-68 mph), changeup (68-70 mph).
Thomas Nichols: Rosa Scott High School, Class of 2023; 5-foot-9, 145-pound; 2B/RHP. During batting practice, the right-handed hitter recorded an exit velocity of 75 mph. Began in balanced stance, had a wrapping load and used a short stride. Has a straight-to-the-ball swing plane, rapid bat speed and a level finish. While in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 74 mph; had consistent hands, rhythmic footwork and a fluid exchange. Had a high ¾ slot with very consistent accuracy to the bag. He clocked a 60 time of 7.43 at the event. On the mound, his fastball sat 73-75 mph. His curveball (66-66 mph) worked best when he spotted up low in the zone. When pitched in sequence with his fastball, his changeup (68-69 mph) can keep hitters off balance.
