Today we’ll shine some light on uncommitted senior RHP/OF Logan Wood (Staley), the 150th ranked prospect in Missouri’s 2021 class

Our last look at Wood came this past June at the MOKAN Top Prospect Games, where he worked out in the outfield and toed the rubber later on at our event. Here is what our State Director, Kevin Moulder, wrote about Wood in the post-event analysis:

“6-foot-1, 175-pound slim frame. During batting practice, the right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 84 mph. Started in a tall open stance with a low load, then used a controlled stride to initiate his swing. Bat speed is quick, displays rotational swing plane and high finish. Barreled up some balls throughout his round. Pull side approach. Solid in the outfield, he showed the ability to make throws to the bases at 80 mph; had a lengthy exchange, sure hands and developing footwork. Used an-over-the-top slot and a long arm action. Clocked a time of 7.36 in the 60-yard dash. Projectable on the mound, used a consistent arm action and a high ¾ arm angle while showing good arm speed. Feel type pitcher and uses some effort. Showed consistent balance point with even shoulders. Lands soft with an athletic finish. Threw his fastball 78-80 mph; keeps its plane. He had tight action on his slider (67-69).”
