Scouting Report

7/15/20
17U National Championship

Uncommitted. The big lefty had a solid outing yesterday sitting 80-85 working the fastball to both sides of the plate and going up in the zone to get outs as well. His curveball showed big depth with 10-4 action at 67-70 when thrown glove side. At 6-4 200 pounds, Hilton already has physicality but can easily add more mass to his frame; he has a loose arm action and is an arm that has a very good ceiling.

Future Game Trials

6-foot-4, 205-pound left-handed pitcher, large, projectable frame, long arms, developing strength, lots of room to fill out, more velo to come as he does so. On the mound, long arm action, low draw showing wide on the back-side, quick arm speed to a high ¾ slot, typically gets out front on time, at-times arm can lag behind the rest of the body. Stays tall on his back-side driving down the mound, works on-line carrying momentum towards home, lands square, finishes crossing over. Fastball sat 82-85, touched 86, sink and run action. Curveball, 72-73, 11/5 shape, depth, slurve-like, potential swing and miss pitch. Changeup, 73-74, sinking action. Feel for three pitches, high upside arm.

PBR Showdown

Uncommitted. 6-foot-4, 200-pound left-handed pitcher, big, strong frame, projectable build. Arm works clean on the back-side showing low on the draw, comes through release with quick arm and hand speed, ¾ slot. Gets into his strong lower half with a drop and drive delivery, works on-line. Fastball sat 84-86, armside run, worked both sides of the plate, was not afraid to go inside and created a tough angle when doing so, jamming the ball into the hands of hitters. Curveball, 72-73, slurve-like shape, big breaker, knew how to use effectively, pitching to both sides and burying it when he needed to.
