Uncommitted Spotlight: Gavin Degnan

Staff Writer

Another uncommitted senior we’ll shine some light on: Hazelwood West OF Gavin Degnan. Ranked 148th overall in Missouri’s 2021 class, Degnan is an upside offensive threat at the plate.

We last saw Degnan at our St. Louis Open event in October where the 5-foot-11, 180-pound athlete strung together an impressive showing. He showed off some pretty noteworthy bat speed and barrel feel during his batting practice round, spraying hard line drives to all fields with ease. His hardest hit ball came off his bat at 97.13 mph and traveled 357 feet, both of which were event highs. Additionally, Degnan’s top throw home from the outfield registered at 85 mph - the third highest number from the event.
