Uncommitted Spotlight: Chris Ricard, 2023 IF/RHP

Brett Harrison
PBR Scouting Director

With the 2022 Summer Season wrapping up, we now begin our transition into the Fall Season which is a critical time for players in the 2023 Class who are still on the board and seeking their future collegiate homes. The NCAA Recruiting Calendar allows for limited contact during the current time period and as a result of that, recruiting coordinators have turned to social media and website coverage of players to help provide objective insight on potential prospects. With that, we will begin highlighting the top prospects the Gem State has to offer in an effort to get our players with college aspirations an opportunity at the next level, wherever that may be with the Uncommitted Spotlight feature.

The physical, two-sport athlete has continued to show his ability at the plate between a pair of standout performances at the 2022 PBR Idaho State Games and the 2022 West Coast Games where he represented the inaugural Team Idaho. His present strength with some twitch allowed his to product loud barrels during both the batting practice session where head lead each event in Max Exit Velocity and continued that production into the game play portion of each event. His present feel and athleticism around the bag at first base would let him settle quickly at the next level as a bat you would want to keep in your lineup.
