Uncommitted Spotlight: 2023 3B/RHP Andrew Armstrong (Harry S. Truman)

Armstrong has a lot to like. Up to 97mph exit velocity, 87mph across from the diamond. Recently adding a 2mph velo jump from when we saw him at PA State Games to U-Philly Scout Day hitting 87. The 6' 2" 192lb RHH stays in his legs well through point of contact, resulting in almost 52% of his batted balls are registered "hard hit", according to Trackman. In the infield he plays low to the ground at the hot corner and works through the ball well. He has a short and quick arm action getting the ball out with lots of carry. On the mound, his FB metrically shows it has swing and miss capabilities at the top of the zone. Paired with a CB that has late movement, when tunneled off his FB has a more 12/6 type look. CH comes in at 72 with late fade which has the makings to be a great pitch against LHH.
