Scouting Report

6/14/22

Physical: Athletic 5-foot-9, 170lb frame with sneaky strength. 6.79 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH. Balanced, even stance that activates the legs early from a well-sequenced operation. Utilized a short lift and replace stride, initiating the swing through a compact, flat path into the hitting zone. Barrel-speed evident, on the nose with hard contact from gap-to-gap during a complete batting practice effort. Notched a T90 mph exit velocity and 60% sweet spot rate via Trackman. Chance to become a legitimate hitter in the class with useful bat to ball skills.

Defensively: The middle infielder featured a hop in the prep step and immediately got over the toes with the chest. Flat back at the touch, funneling inward smoothly, and releasing up to 83 mph positionally. Feel going away from the bag and on the run.

2/27/22

Physical: Highly athletic 5-foot-9, 170lb frame with feel. 7.14 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - Balanced, even stance, as the barrel starts up and down at the shoulder to begin. Looks more physical in the lower half since his last appearance, controlling a leg lift stride out towards the pitcher. Initiated the swing through a flat, accurate path towards a whippy one-handed finish on the backside. Drove the ball to the LCF gap during his round, finding contact points at the front of the plate, and added a T91 mph exit velocity, 85 mph AVG. Worked up to a 338 foot distance at his peak, can leave the yard on occasion to pull.

Defensively: The middle infielder rounds the ball from right to left, gaining a good first move on the ball. Stayed low through the touch and maintained momentum to the target. Stood up on the throw, releasing from a H ¾ slot with more available (75 mph best, accurate).

7/20/21

Physical: Lean, athletic 5-foot-9, 150lb frame with efficiency in the actions. 7.06 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - Lean, upright stance at a narrow position as the hands started loose at the shoulder. Utilized a leg-hang stride to a stretched landing and initiated through a flat, fluid path with lift towards a deeper finish on the backside. Stayed athletic in the box and adjusted on pitches thrown in multiple quadrants with a smooth, accurate barrel. Able to hit for average down the road with solid bat to ball skills and doubles power to pull (T91 mph bat-exit velocity, 67% line drive rate via Trackman). Projects for a top of the order role down the road with an advanced feel to hit.

Defensively: The middle infielder operated with a quick first step and comfortable posture, shuffling in either direction with rangy actions. The glove hand presented softly on time, out in front and funneled inward while gaining momentum to the target. Released accurately from a loose H ¾ slot at 72 mph with more available (quick trigger).
