Uncommitted Spotlight: '21 Dylan Dirig

Brett Harrison
Nevada Scouting Director

Dylan Dirig is an excellent game manager with above average receiving skills and a 1.93 PBR Verified Pop Time. The Desert Oasis product is the fourth ranked backstop in the state and could make a significant jump when the rankings get updated if he continues to progress like he did this past Fall. As a sophomore, he saw limited time but gain invaluable experience during the Diamondback's State Championship run. Dirig was a standout behind the dish at the Desert Oasis Scout Day earlier this year and started all eight games in the shortened high school season. Currently, his bat is trailing his glove in development, but if his hit tool comes around like we expect it to, it should catapult him up the rankings as one top overall prospects in the state.

"Dylan Dirig has come up through our program. As a sophomore Dylan caught for us all winter. This is when he turned the corner managing one of the best pitching staffs in the country and did an excellent job. He was set to have a break out year for us. He is a plus receiving catcher  and has a plus arm. Defensively, I am not sure their is any better catcher. Dylan continues to work day in and day out on his craft and will be an asset to whatever program he decides to go to." Desert Oasis Head Coach, Paul Buboltz
