Scouting Report

10/01/22

Physical: Muscular, compact 5-foot-10, 175lb build. 7.13 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH. Simple, balanced stance with hand-rhythm to begin. Utilized a short lift-and-replace stride to initiate the swing through a flat, whippy path with some twitch into the hitting zone. Stayed behind the ball for a strong extra-base hit approach, delivering a T95 mph exit velocity and 370 foot distance via Trackman. Much improved over the past year on both sides.

Defensively: The primary shortstop featured a hop in the prep-step, working laterally from right-to-left on the ball. Fielded out in front using lower posture at the touch and reached back for a carrying 86 mph arm-strength across the dirt (H ¾). Picks it clean in the middle.

6/12/22

Physical: Lean, athletic 5-foot-10, 160lb frame with added feel. 6.94 runner in the 60.

Offensively: RHH. Balanced, shoulder-width stance, flashing loose hands at the start and plenty of adjustability in the box. Efficient mover that uses a leg-lift to initiate the swing through a whippy, slightly uphill path through the zone. Matches plane well in the box, creating good pound for pound power up to a T91 mph bat-exit velocity 334 foot batted ball distance.

Defensively: The shortstop demonstrated increasingly impressive actions. Glided across the diamond from right to left with tempo and pace after the touch. Got rid up to 84 mph from H ¾ slot, game like, and made the play on the run.

Pitching: RHP - The righty operated with consistent success into the zone from a compact delivery. Quick arm and T79 mph FB that paired with 64-66 mph SL cutting on a short lateral tilt. A developing 68-69 mph CH rounds out the arsenal.

2/12/22

Physical: 5-foot-9, 160 pounds; Slight, athletic build. 7.03 runner in the 60.

Offensively: Switch hitter. Even setup, with feet shoulder width apart; upright bat position. Short take back with the hands with an up and down stride for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing a strong lower half. Showed a moderate swing path with a two handed finish.   with a peak exit velocity of 90 MPH via Trackman.

Defensively
: Starts with an upright /tall setup; uses prep step while utilizing a quick first step. Hands are soft with a seamless transfer. Moderate arm circle from a high 3/4 arm slot.  INF - 83 MPH.

8/03/21

Physical: Lean, athletic 5-foot-8, 150lb frame with room to add strength. 7.23 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - Balanced, slightly open stance with the hands flashing rhythm at the head. Utilized a fluid leg kick to initiate the barrel through a slightly uphill, direct path. Extended well at impact, maintaining good posture and deep turns over the rear hip. Produced a lofty approach (40% flyball rate via Trackman) with his best swing at 312 foot batted ball distance (doubles power). Able to get leveraged in order to drive the ball to the pull-side of the field, recording a T90 mph bat-exit velocity and feel on the middle/in part of the plate.

Defensively: The middle infielder showed lower posture and a bent, compact position at the fielding window, using a soft glove hand to corral inward. Kept the feet moving, shuffling twice towards the target before releasing from a shorter H ¾ slot (accurate, 77 mph arm).

Pitching: RHP - The righty began from the left side of the rubber, swinging the leg to the stack and working fluidly down the slope into footstrike (athletic arm-swing, connected move in-line to the mitt). A whippy, clean H ¾ release produced a FB entering from 74-76 mph with big time ride up above the letters. Mixed a sweeping 63-65 mph CB at 7 inches of HM and countered with a killed 59-60 mph CH (fade to arm-side).

2/13/21

Physical: 5-foot-8, 150LBS. Lean, athletic build. 7.51SEC 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH. Tall, narrow stance that begins slightly open. Hands somewhat high above the shoulder. Hands work down and back during the load while the lower half begins to works back straight towards the pitcher. The stride is somewhat drastic as the weight transfer from the backside onto the baseball. High finish.

Defensively: Primary SS. Moves side to side well and fields the ball out in front. Funnels to belt line and as he shuffled towards 1B. Shows the ability to through from multiple arm slots and has some athleticism in his game.

Pitching: RHP. Maintains balance and control of the body well throughout the delivery. Begins on the 1B side of the rubber and works into a rocker step. Utilizes a leg lift to slightly below chest and the hands work down and up in correlation with the lower half move. Short, quick drive down the mound. Maintains some bend in the elbow during the arm swing.
