Uncommitted Spotlight: 2023 RHP Landon Kuntzelman (Trinity)

 

Physical: Tall-waisted, wiry 6-foot-2, 186lb frame with more to come.

Pitching: RHP. Starts off the far left corner of the mound; high leg-swing that “pulls down” release from a higher OTT slot. Really creates a tough angle into the zone with heavy action on an 80-82 mph FB (2158, 12 inch HM). Mixed a two-plane upper-60’s CB that showed significant lateral movement across the plate.

 

 

 

Physical: Projectable, athletic 6-foot-2, 186lb frame with longer levers.

Pitching: RHP. Starts off the left corner of the mound; above-average pace with some hip-coil down the slope, hiding the ball through a full, H ¾ slot. Quick arm on the front-side while blocking off in the lower-half, making the FB jump at 81-84 mph (2234). A two-plane 66-69 mph SL played well from a similar window, gaining awkward swings in the box. There’s feel for a mid-to-upper 70’s CH at 1623 rpms, fading at times with repeated extension.
