Scouting Report

6/12/22

Physical: Highly athletic, lean 6-foot, 165lb frame. 7.04 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: Switch-hitter. Mirrored from both sides of the plate utilizing a comfortable open stance and adjustable lower half. A leg lift stride allowed the trigger to flow through a flat path into the hitting zone with some lift. Produced square contact to the pull-side gap and recorded a 94 mph exit velocity, more coming. Extra-base hit approach and leadoff hitter type that can both hit for average and power down the road. Handled velocity well during gameplay.

Defensively: The middle infielder demonstrated rangy footwork in either direction, releasing with up tempo pace across the diamond from a full arm circle (H ¾ slot, 71 mph). Spun the double play using quick burst, smooth exchange, and made play on the run across his body.

Pitching: RHP. Showed off quicker pace and hid the ball until footstrike. Balanced delivery that repeated, pounding the zone in the upper-70’s with slight arm side run. Added developing 66-69 mph breaker and straight CH at 72-75 mph.

6/13/21

Physical: Athletic, lean 6-foot, 160lb frame with big time projection/room to fill out as he matures. 6.92 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: Switch-hitter - Open, calm stance with a slight bend in the knees as the barrel operated from the shoulder to start; utilized a lift and replace stride out towards the pitcher allowing for good direction and consistency in the swing. Mirrored from both sides, but showed more weight shift / higher barrel start as a righty. Offered gap to gap, line drive contact using a flat path and worked his way up to an 89 mph bat-exit velocity per Trackman Baseball. Posted a 315 foot batted ball distance during his round pointing towards doubles power at the moment in a top of the order build.

Defensively: The primary middle infielder featured lengthy/rangy steps in either direction with feel for his glove hand side; soft actions inward and a short, quick release from ¾ slot (71 mph arm; more in the tank). Showed well from the OF with present positional flexibility, arriving with a downhill chest to the baseball at the fielding window, corralled in off the left side and released from a longer high ¾ slot with accuracy on the plate (80 mph). Ability to handle a centerfield role down the line as he continues seasoning skills.

Pitching: RHP - Started off the far left side of the rubber with a medium side rocker into a balanced stack at a slightly open position; got down the mound with pace through a short, high ¾ slot on the front side. FB ranged from 74-76 mph with some arm side run, holding the zone at a near 50% rate. Mixed a slow-breaking 60-61 mph CB flashing good 11/5 shape to it, countering with a harder, more effective 63-64 mph SL (9.4 inches of HM) that he threw for strikes.

2/09/20

5-foot-10, 150-pound switch-hitter has added three inches and thirty pounds to his frame since we last saw him. Showcased similar swing mechanics from both sides of the plate. Starts from a slightly open stance and initiates his swing with a toe tap stride. Some lower half glide causes timing issues at times. Much stronger from his dominant right side. Registered a bat exit velocity of 85 mph and ran a 7.17 60-yard dash. Current 68 mph arm strength and defensive skills forecast him as a second baseman at the next level. Sat 67-70, while touching 73 mph, out of a high 3/4 arm slot on the mound. Short takeaway with a repeatable delivery. Also showed a loopy curveball at 55-58 and a straight change at 63-65.

6/20/19

5-foot-7, 125-pound switch-hitter showcased similar swings from both sides of the plate. Starts from a slightly open stance and utilizes a toe-tap stride to begin. Sound swing mechanics will continue to improve through strength gains and physical maturity. Registered a 75 mph bat exit velocity and ran a 7.40 60-yard dash. Showcased solid fielding mechanics with developing 62 mph arm strength across the diamond. The righty sat 65-70 from a high 3/4 arm slot with repeatable mechanics. Curveball showed 11/5 rotation at 54-56 and changeup was thrown at near fastball arm speed at 60-62.
