Uncommitted Spotlight: 2022 RHP/1B Connor Grotyohann

Physicality jumps off the page for Grotyohann at 6-foot-4 215-pounds. Impressed with an eye opening batting practice round, where he launch several deep into the woods over the left field fence - with a max distance of 420 feet via Trackman and a Max Exit Velocity of 105 mph. Slight crouch to start in the box with a smooth load and small leg kick and stride. Explosive hips and hands through the zone and bat footed finish. The ball jumped off of his bat. On the mound, he was equally as impressive. Up to 90 mph in his bullpen, and sat consistently 87-89, Grotyohann showed an up-tempo delivery and loose, whippy arm action from a high-3/4 slot with some late life down in the zone. Flashed a curveball with 11/5 break and a slider with more lateral movement at 73-74. Projectable, two-way potential. One of the top uncommitted players in the 2022 class in NJ.
