Uncommitted Spotlight - 2024 Rankings Risers
December 14, 2022
Earlier this Fall we updated our 2024 class rankings for Oregon. Class rankings are updated multiple times throughout the year with the goal of helping coaches/evaluators identify players in the area.
Today we're spotlighting 3 uncommitted prospects who are on the rise in the class after strong showings this summer and in the fall.

UNCOMMITTED SPOTLIGHT
2024 rankings risers
Matthew Kosderka RHP / OF / Sandy, OR / 2024Rankings StateRank: 12 / POS: 4
Early on in the summer, Kosderka flashed his 2-way ability at our Top Prospect event. Since then, the OF/RHP has made a considerable jump on the mound with reports of a FB that works in the upper 80s now. Back in June, he commanded a live FB at 81-83 with carry & ride into the upper half of the zone. He paired it with an above average CB at 71-73 with 2,600 - 2,700 rpm and tight depth. Overall, while Kosderka has the strength and bat speed to be a consistent presence at the plate, the ceiling on the mound is tough to ignore. With a stocky, physically mature frame, he keeps his delivery simple with repeatable actions and really allows him arm to accelerate through release from a high ¾ slot. One of the top uncommitted arms to watch in 2023. |
Keller Bloodworth RHP / SS / Ashland, OR / 2024Rankings StateRank: 19 / POS: 5
At 6’2, 180 lbs, Bloodworth has an ideal pitcher’s frame with long, loose limbs and considerable upside. As a 2-way prospect, his arm talent really plays up from the left side of the INF as he’s capable of firing balls in the mid 80’s from a tight, compact arm path. Offensively he’s continuing to grow into his frame and shows a middle of the field, line-drive approach presently. On the mound, we saw him pitch 81-83 across multiple looks this summer with consistent FB command and feel for a tightly spun SL. The velocity really plays up on the FB with the extension he gets from a high ¾ release and the late intent of his delivery. The SL tunnels well and comes out of hand with FB conviction. It’s a low maintenance delivery that allows him to really move through his core and should make it easy for him to turn added strength into velocity gains.

Donavin Crouch SS / C / Sandy , OR / 2024Rankings StateRank: 32 / POS: 9
Slick fielding SS with 2-way ability who finished the Fall with a complete workout at our Ridgefield event. At 5’10, 160, Crouch has quality size for the INF with a lean frame that can handle additional strength. Shows light, crisp footwork at SS while controlling a confident glove hand. Consistent, rhythmic exchange with aggressive footwork towards his target. Arm shows accuracy and carry from a ¾ slot. At the plate, his barrel covers exceptional depth in the zone and allows him to work to all fields. The hands stay tight into rotation as he finishes with an uphill path after contact. Stays balanced throughout. On the mound, he flashed a 4-pitch mix which featured the classic FB/CB/CH trio as well as a knuckleball. His athleticism on defense translates well to the bump where he shows body control and late intent while working exclusively from the stretch. Pitched 79-80 with the FB and showed an 11/5 CB as his best secondary |
