Scouting Report

If colleges out there are looking for an infielder in their 2022 class Vincent Fournier out of Quebec is someone to give a look at. At 6-0, 160-pounds, he definitely needs to get stronger, and once that happens, the rest of his game will take off. Fournier isn’t very twitchy, there’s not a ton of pop in the bat, and his showcase numbers aren't very loud right now, but the swing is clean and gets on a good path as he stays on plane, has good AB’s and competes in game. On defense the glove works, but his foot-speed profiles him more to third or second (which would put pressure on his bat). His timing in the infield is pretty good, feet move well, the actions work and while the arm needs to take a step, it seems more like a release point issue as opposed to arm strength. Fournier is also a 7-ish runner, but once again, if he gets stronger he might give himself a good shot to stay on the dirt. The off-season will play a key role, especially in the weight room if Fournier is to take the next step in his development.
