Tulsa Sandlot Leader Board

Staff Writer

PBR covered the very talented Tulsa Sandlot Showcase on May 22nd at Broken Arrow. The event featured players from the 2022, 2023, and 2024 graduating classes. The players listed below are only the players from the event that chose to upgrade to a PBR profile. See all of the numbers from the event, here.

The event featured multiple fast twitch athletes as there were 19 sub 7.0 60s with 2023 Taylor Tomlin leading all players with a 6.69 60.  2022 Reese Daigle ripped off the second fastest 60 of the day at 6.76

Off of the tee, there were 35 exit velos at 85+, and 11 at 90+. Another 2023 grad Luke Schimmels lead all swingers, boasting a 96 mph exit velo off the tee. Schimmels also took a strong round of BP. Tied for the second highest exit velos of the day were 2024 Owen Coil and 2022 Preston Peety who both had big time days all the way around. h

Defensively, there were some big arms from the infield and outfield. 2023 Chandler Fowler lead all infielders at 87 mph, and in the outfield, it was 2022 Cameron Ebert leading the way at 86.  Taylor Tomlin continued to have a big day as he led all 2023 outfields at 83, and looks poised to have an impressive summer.

Behind the dish it, this was one of the most impressive crops of catchers we have ever had in one event. It was 2023 Brody Briggs who showed the biggest arm at 79 from the crouch and pop times as low as 1.84. 2023 Kansas State commit Nathan Murphy was 75 to second base and had the second fastest pop time of the event at 1.85, only behind Briggs. An eye popping nine catchers posted sub 2.0 pop times.

On the mound, 2023 Scotty Flanagan was electric at 84-89 and also flashing a late moving breaking ball. 2023 Nathan Murphy was up to 87, while 2022 Oklahoma State commit Brennan Phillips, who continues to show elite pitchability, and 2023 Tre Speer both touched 86. In total, there were 5 arms that were 85 plus.
