Top Ranked Grand Rapids Christian Remains Unbeaten
April 18, 2012
The top-ranked team in Division 2, Grand Rapids Christian Eagles, continued to roll by sweeping Lowell in the league opener. Alex VandeVusse, a 6-foot-1, 175-pounds, RHP, improved his record to 3-0 on the year by winning last night’s opener 4-0. VandeVusse, who threw a no hitter against Holland Christian on March 27th, went five and two-thirds innings giving up three hits, striking out eight, and allowing no runs.
In the second game of the double-header, Mitch Reitsma lead the Eagles to a sweep by going five strong innings striking out seven and only issuing one walk. The lanky 6-foot-4, 200-pounds Reitsma, held Lowell to only one run.
The Lowell Red Arrows are no slouch either. They are now 11-5 on the year and will face Grand Rapids Christian again on Thursday.
