Scouting Report

8/01/22

A standout performer during the workout day, Osborne proved he’s one of the more explosive athletes in the event with a 6.81 in his 60, 37.4 in max vertical and 2.54 RSI score. All validing the upside he has on the diamond. Defensively his receiving has continued to improve while catching quality velocity/stuff and he can really get out of his crouch and get into his catch and throw actions in a hurry. Also has shown the willingness to handle OF duties this week and has more than held it down. His strength/speed combo makes him a unique offensive threat and at 6’4, 195 lbs, he still has a considerable ceiling to tap into as a middle of the order bat. Offensively he uses a mature approach at the plate and has let the game come to him so far. Utilizes the middle of the field with present gap to gap power. Overall, athletic packages such as Osborne don’t come around very often and we don’t anticipate him staying on the board much longer.

7/13/22

Osborne is blessed with speed and physicality in a 6-foot-4, 195-pound frame. He has long been one of the best pure athletes in the Pacific Northwest and over time he has added polish to his defensive ability behind the plate while consistently getting faster and more explosive. For a taller backstop, he does a solid job staying compact and working below the ball. His arm stays tight and compact through release and he delivers throws with accurate ball flight. At the plate, he utilizes a balanced leg lift and controlled forward move to create separation. He generates easy bat speed with slight loft in the swing and has been showing more power in game as of late.
