Top Performer Spotlight: 2023 OF/RHP Greyson Kovatch (Downingtown West)

Kovatch has progressed physically as well as anyone could want him to right now as he is standing in around 6-foot-1, 185lbs with strength in the lower half that is the driving force behind the majority of his measurables. Kovatch posted a 98 MPH exit velo in an eye popping round of loud barrels en route to a 64% Sweet Spot rate via Trackman. Quick twitch and strength are the stand out qualities in Kovatch's swing as he manages to rotate and post an 80 MPH bat speed via Blast.

Defensively, Kovatch profiles nicely at the corner OF position as he has quality arm strength (85 MPH) and natural, quick routes to the baseball. 

Even after his exceptional round of BP, Kovatch seemed to impress even more on the mound. Greyson works quickly on the bump with violent movements into front foot strike that help him generate the high velocity in his frame. He possesses 4 pitches, where 3 of them are quality, developed pitches. The FB was 84-87 T88 MPH with very good life through the zone. The CB is sharp with slurve-ish shape that can be thrown whenever he likes for strikes and a swing & miss. Kovatch's CH (77-80 MPH) is certainly on its way to being a great pitch if he can generate some more depth on it. The horizontal movement is there (14 inches) but the induce vertial break is just a touch too high to be producing two plane movement. To wrap up the arsenal, Kovatch mixes in a SL with decent horizontal movement that just does not produce enough depth to be a strike out pitch just yet at the next level. If he can add some depth on the CH and the SL, Kovatch could be a legitimate two way threat and make a big splash in a college program.
