Top 20 Profiles of 2020: No. 1 Dylan Lesko

Phil Kerber
Georgia Scouting Director

Ring in the new year with the No. 1 most viewed profile of 2020, Vanderbilt commit RHP Dylan Lesko (Buford, 2022). Lesko is the No. 1-ranked prospect in Georgia and No. 2-ranked prospect overall. He now repeats as the state's most viewed profile, taking the title in 2019 as well.

Lesko has long been regarded as the top arm in the country, and he further solidified that position with how well he pitched this year. He has a clean, electric arm action. His fastball typically does not dip below 90 mph, as he attacks the zone with heat. Lesko has two offspeed pitches with his changeup being the better of the two. The changeup is a wipeout pitch, featuring heavy fade.

No. 1: Dylan Lesko

Is the rare combination of now stuff and projection at such a young age. Showing advanced feel for a change-up, even for a much older prospect. and future weapons in both his fastball and curveball. The word advanced can be dangled about this day and age, but the only prep to show these types of attributes at such a young age was one Dylan Bundy. Lesko is unafraid on the mound and has no problem establishing his fastball which he locates and hides well behind his technically sound front side and his on line stroke, especially for an arm that works so clean and easy.

Currently the No. 6 prospect in the 2022 Overall Rankings. Athletic, projectable frame at 6-foot-2, 175 pounds, relatively easy delivery. He closed out Buford’s first game, sitting 89-90 with a strikeout in one inning. He has excellent feel for a changeup at 77-79 and flashed a sharp slider in the mid 70s. He was brought back for a more extended appearance in Buford’s second game and pitched more in the 86-88 range, but got touched up by the Providence hitters for four runs on five hits. He struck out five in 2.1 innings.
