With the year coming to an end, our staff is taking some time to highlight and reflect on the most viewed profiles in Missouri throughout 2022. We’ll be working our way to the top spot, starting with No. 10 earlier last week and working our way down, releasing the most viewed name today.

Our profiles serve as an all-in-one platform for players, hosting vendors such as verified stats, event video, contact information, and more. To create a free PBR profile, click HERE.

Concluding our ‘End of the Year’ countdown at the number one spot is RHP Karson Milbrandt (Liberty). The former Vanderbilt commit ended his prep career as the top ranked prospect in Missouri’s 2022 class and slotting inside the top-100 nationally, too.

A PBR Future Games alum, Milbrandt has always been a name-to-know from a prospect standpoint and he checked all the boxes throughout the 2021 summer circuit. He stood out at the Area Code Games shortly after committing to the Commodores, pumping his fastball at 95-96 mph with electric arm speed and advanced raw spin. It was there where Milbrandt truly started to trend upward as a legitimate prospect to follow from a draft standpoint.

Milbrandt came into the spring and quickly bolstered his draft status. He dominated for one of Missouri’s top high school programs and took home our state ‘Player of the Year’ award in the process. Milbrandt struck out 91 batters over 50 ⅔ innings, walking just 14 with a 1.66 ERA, and led Liberty to their District final before falling to rival Liberty North. His electric arsenal proved to be more refined than what we’d previously seen and there was real buzz for Milbrandt to go fairly high come July.

With the 85th overall pick in the MLB Amateur Draft, the Miami Marlins selected Milbrandt and signed him for $1.5 million, which was roughly double of the assigned slot value to that selection. That dollar value suggests how high the organization feels about Milbrandt and the Marlins, in particular, have had success with developing young talented arms over the past few years. Milbrandt’s future is bright, and he’s set to become yet another successful professional player from the ‘Show Me’ state.
