Redshirt freshman RHP Peyton Medeiros has had a strong year for Fort Scott in 2023, with a 3.55 ERA, along with 4 wins and 25 strikeouts. Appearing in 16 games and pitching 33 innings, Medeiros has limited opponents to 8 walks and a .250 batting average. At last fall’s Fort Scott CC Scout Day, he showed off his entire pitch arsenal, with a fastball that peaked at 77.8 MPH, a slider with impressive movement (15.5 in. average total movement), as well as a changeup, a cutter, and a sinker. In games this spring, Medeiros has seen his fastball jump to 80-82. Medeiros’s production this year will check a lot of boxes for coaches at the next level.
