College Crosscheck: Texas vs. McLennan JC

AUSTIN, TX - Texas scrimmaged McLennan Community College Sunday afternoon at UFCU Disch-Falk Field, and the 14-inning contest went like most fall scrimmages do. For both teams, there were some good moments, some ugly moments, some bright flashes by freshmen, and also some clear signs of youth and rust.

In the end, thanks to freshman outfielder Chase Roberts’s RBI triple in the bottom of the 14th inning, Texas beat McLennan 10-9.

--- It wasn’t a perfect performance for the junior and the No. 82 ranked in the PBR College Top 150, but Texas shortstop David Hamilton flashed some of the tools that make him an attractive MLB Draft prospect.
