Team Preview: Northeast Lauderdale
February 19, 2019
The Mississippi high school season kicks off on February 26, the first day for regular season games. Most teams will begin practicing on January 29, getting their rosters set and finalizing their lineups.
Over the next several weeks, leading up to opening day, we will be rolling out team previews of high school teams all across the state and across all classifications, eventually launching our Preseason Power 25.
We have been sending out our annual Preseason Questionnaire to coaches all across the state and as the responses flood in we will bring you a snapshot of what to expect along with top players and keys to success for that particular team. If you don’t see your team’s season preview make sure your head coach fills out his Preseason Questionnaire.

Outlook
Expectations are high for Coach Josh Snider and the Trojans this year, as they return three arms and six starters from last season's 13-win team. The Trojans have a roster full of experience and will look to strong defensive play to carry them through the 2019 campaign. RHP/SS Landon Harper will provide the senior leadership coming off a 2018 season where he hit .348 and recorded 21 innings on the mound. RHP/C Brock Butler will also be a big piece to the puzzle as he lead the team at the plate, finishing with a .397 average. Coach Snider and the Trojans have an experienced lineup and the talent required to make a deep run in 2019.
