Scouting Report

8/01/20
The 5-foot-10, 180-pound two-way Rice commit came on strong this summer earning a spot at PBR Future Games.  Average, compact frame with little projection, but Davis contributes with a big game.  Balanced stance with toe tap small leg kick to generate strong rotational data (Max: 30.2 G per Blast) and excellent bat speed (Max: 75.6 mph per Blast). Correlates to gap to gap power (99.5 Exit Velo | 364 ft Distance via Trackman) paired with a strong hit tool.  Picked up three hits with three RBIs, a walk, a stolen base, and a run scored.  Defensively, the instinctive shortstop shows great hands and footwork while posting the top infield velo (94 mph) at Future Games. Can play all three infield positions and be a nice pitching option. Davis threw an inning of relief sitting 86-90, (T91 this summer and topping 2593 rpm in May; maintaining 2200-2400s rpm via Trackman at FG) to go with a sharp CB at 72-75 (Up to 2600 rpm; maintaining 2000-2400s rpm).

6/06/20
The 5-foot-10, 170-pound uncommitted two-way prospect put together another strong showing all weekend.  Medium, average build w/ limited projection, but a staple at the top of the order.  The Cookeville shortstop has a knack for barreling baseballs and picking up hits in bunches.  Gap-to-gap power with steady diet of hard liner singles.  Sure-handed and fundamentally sound with strong footwork.  On the mound, consistent upper 80s arm, topping at 91 the week prior (2466-2593 rpm) to go with CB in mid 70s (Nearly 2600 rpm).  Two-way at the top of the 22’ class is a must follow this summer.

9/27/19
5-foot-9, 160-pound right-handed hitting two-way prospect, strong, durable frame, broad shoulders, a good athlete as well (ran a 7.16 60 6/12/19). Arm works short and loose to a ¾ slot, quick arm and hand speed whip through release. Drop and drive delivery, explosive lower half, works on-line, lands square, finishes crossing over. Fastball sat 82-84 with late run action. Curveball, tight spin, played at 71.

6/12/19
The 5-foot-9, 160-pound two-way prospect has a knack for barreling baseballs and collecting base hits.  Although a bit undersized, Davis has good pop showing he can drive balls gap-to-gap with ease.  At Top Prospect Games, Davis topped at 82 w/ good spin and life on his fastball paired w/ sharp breaking ball at 69-71.  The #1 two-way player in the class.
