Scouting Report

1/7/19
Maldonado is a Vanderbilt recruit hailing from Seton Hall Prep. Lean, athletic build at 6-foot-2 195-pounds. On the mound, the right hander possesses elite command and pitchability of three pitches. Consistently in the upper 80s, Maldonado can pop a 90-91 routinely, often later in games. His breaking ball has sharp 11/5 break and can take a little off to make it more of a curveball, or add velocity to it to make it more of a put-away pitch. His changeup has armside run at 76-78 MPH. Clean, polished mechanics with an effortless finish, Maldonado has been one of the most consistent starting pitchers in New Jersey since his freshman year.
