6/13/17 - Smith is an athletic 5-foot-11 175-pound left-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2019 class. He ran a 6.69 laser timed 60 and a 4.08 home to first. He has a 95 mph exit velo. At the plate, sprayed the ball gap-to-gap, showed pull gap power, quick bats speed, feel for the barrell, repeatable swing with no wasted movements. In the outfield, 83 mph positional velo, athletic actions, quick to the ball with quick catch and throw, accurate thrower.
6/14/16 - Smith is a 5-foot-9 165-pound left-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2019 class. He ran a 6.91 60, one of the top times of the event and 4.08 home-to-first, one of the top LHH times down the line. He has an 88 mph exit velo, one of the top LHH exit velos of the event. At the plate, balanced set up, smooth load to back side, flashes of pull side power, mostly middle to pull line drives, loose hands, feel for barrel, doubled to right-center in game action. In the outfield, 77 mph positional velo, high three quarters release, quick transfer and throw, athletic, aggressive to the ball, accurate throws.
5/31/16 - Smith is a 5-foot-10 165-pound left-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2019 class. He ran a 6.99 60, one of the top for the event, and a 4.16 home-to-first. He has an 85 mph exit velo, among the best of LHH. At the plate, balanced set up, smooth weight shift into back side, quick hands, level though the zone, consistent line drives to the pull side during batting practice, feel for the barrel, had three singles in game action, aggressive base runner. In the outfield, 74 mph positional velo, high three quarters release, quick twitch actions, athletic, aggressive to the ball, accurate throws.
11/1/15 - Smith is a 5-foot-8 145-pound left-handed hitting outfielder and left-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2019 class. Smith had an 84 mph exit velo, one of the best for the event. He ran a 7.09 60 and 4.40 home-to-first from the left side. At the plate, balanced set up, smooth load, accelerated and quick swing, level path, middle to pull approach. In the outfield, 76 mph positional velo, high three quarters release, move the ball with ease and athletic actions, plays through catch, quick catch and release, accurate throws, quick twitch athlete that is very projectable. As a pitcher, Smith works hands with knee lift, high three quarters slot, arm works, in line stride, athletic finish, works mostly inside to LHH, repeats, controlled rhythm, fastball at 72-75 mph, slight run.
