Summer Follow 2021's

Shooter Hunt
National Crosschecker

Continuing to dive into the 2021 class, On the Hunt features another collection of young, talented players in this week’s edition. The players, who hail from Arkansas, Canada, Mississippi, and Tennessee each show the potential to blossom into solid players at the next level.

Cade Granzow RHP / 3B / Brentwood, TN / 2021

There is plenty to like about Granzow moving forward, and college coaches will likely be following him closely moving forward. Already an athletic, 6-foot-2, 180-pounds with a stronger lower-half, Granzow shows signs of developing into a true, two-way talent at the next level. In a recent game, the big right-hander worked his fastball downhill at 85-87 while countering it with feel for an 11/5 breaking ball at 71-76, which featured multi-tier break. Repeating his near ¾ arm slot with relative ease, the ball jumps out of his hand after a short, quick arm swing. His feel for the breaking ball, which he adds and subtracts while throwing for strikes, could boost him into becoming one of the better arms in the state in the future. At the plate, the right-handed hitter has a short path to the ball while exhibiting strength through the zone. Utilizing a short stride with a minor, late coil, he demonstrates the ability to use the entire field to hit line drives, and should continue to add power as he matures. Overall, Granzow’s athleticism will likely intrigue college recruiters, and given his quick arm and feel for spin, they will likely be locked in on him moving forward.
