Statistical Release: NJ Super 60 Standouts

The 20th annual Super 60 Professional Showcase wrapped up this past Sunday with some of the best high school MLB Draft talent on display for hundreds of professional scouts and cross checkers.

Year after year, the event boasts some high ticket names in the senior class, but also creates an opportunity for lesser known draft prospects to propel themselves into potential draft picks. Most importantly for these types of players, it gets eyes on them for follow lists in the spring season.

New Jersey Standouts

This year, three players from New Jersey's class of 2022 ventured out to Chicago, IL to participate in the event. All three are currently ranked within the top 10 in the state with Chris Maldonado at No. 3, Zach Crotchfelt at No. 5, and Max Martin at No. 8.

With the position player workout preceding the pitchers, Maldonado and Martin were on full display early on. Both were in the same hitting group and both opened eyes as two of the top hitters at the event. Maldonado's effortless power and Martin's explosive bat path through the zone were lauded at the event.

Crotchfelt toed the rubber in the latter half of the event and immediately stated his case as a top arm at the event. A fastball that averaged 92 mph and topped at 94 from the left side, Crotchfelt pounded the strike zone with ease, wrinkled a slurvy breaker at 76-79, a harder changeup at 84-85, and a solid cutter at 86-88.
