Scouting Report

1/5/19 - SoCal preseason All-State. Uncommitted. 6-foot-3, 200-pounds. Tall, proportionally strong, athletic frame, long arms, legs and high waist with significant physical projection remaining. Prototypical first baseman's body. Simpson displays a natural, rhythmic left-handed swing path with an advanced, aggressive approach and whippy bat. Shows plate awareness and the ability to use both sides outfield the field with excellent hand-eye coordination. Lacks strength in frame to do big damage now, but will be able to drive balls deep into gaps for high doubles totals and ability to drive over right field wall regularly as he ages and grows stronger. Defensively, Simpson demonstrates soft hands, excellent footwork around first base, and the ability to turn the double play with ease. He is not a true base threat but will be adequate on the bases.

Scouting Report

1/5/19 - SoCal preseason All-State. Uncommitted. 6-foot-1, 160-pounds. Tall, wiry frame with slim high waist and room for significant physical grow. Mansfield shows a balanced swing, and hit the ball hard to all fields with a solid approach in his batting practice round. Flashed some soft hands with good footwork often beating the ball to the spot. Backhand was true. Displayed and average arm on throws to first base. Mansfield is an average runner that will be able to increase speed with added leg strength.

Scouting Report

1/5/19 - SoCal preseason All-State. Uncommitted. 6-foot-5, 190-pounds. Tall, large frame, narrow chest, long arms and legs with high waist. Plenty of room to add muscle and core strength. Offensively his weight transfer was getting stuck often rotating on front leg and ankle putting him off balance at times. Shows the ability to keep his barrel path on a consistent plane through the hitting zone. Hands are average in speed not always allowing him to get the barrel on inside pitches. Displayed average arm on throws across the diamond. Excellent awareness and consistent footwork around the bag at first base.

Scouting Report

1/5/19 - SoCal preseason All-State. GCU commit. 5-foot-11, 185-pounds. Large, thick, durable frame with power in legs. Natural left-handed swing path with quick, strong hands that generate excellent bat speed. Displays a balanced, rotational swing with a quiet head. Future over the fence power potential. Demonstrated the ability to handle the bat and use both sides outfield the field with excellent hand-eye coordination. Garcia displays soft hands, the ability to pick out a hop with good footwork, and is accurate with throws to first base. Profiles at third base or corner outfield; present BAT over field.

Scouting Report

1/5/19- SoCal Preseason All-State (fielding) - Moeller shows athletic movements around the bag with nimble footwork for a player his size. Arm strength is average presently while his exchanges are quick/clean with fast hands. Those hands serve him well at the plate where his left-handed stroke is pure and consistent. Maintains the barrel on plane throughout the hitting zone consistently often barreling balls to the gaps. Shows good plate coverage and an awareness/understanding of his pitch.

Scouting Report

1/5/19- SoCal Preseason All-State (fielding) - Mas shows good footwork where he circles balls and gets and funnels them out front. Exchanges are clean while his throws show some accuracy. As he continues to develop physically he should see an uptick in the strength of his throws. At the plate he shows the ability to catch up to pitches on the inner half with quick hands. Squared balls up consistently into the outfield.

Scouting Report

1/5/19- SoCal Preseason All-State (fielding) - Pulido was arguably the top first baseman at the event after showing off his athleticism around the bag. His footwork is excellent and his ability to read hops was uncanny. Has quick hands that allow for quick/clean transfers with enough present arm strength to make accurate, strong throws across the diamond. Turned the double play ball easily and routinely. At the plate he put on a display of power often driving balls to the wall and occasionally over it. Has present bat speed that allows him to get the barrel on balls on the inner half with ease. Power really projects for consistent future over-the-fence power.

Scouting Report

1/5/19 - SoCal preseason All-State (fielding) -  Uncommitted. offensively Haskell is a physical presence from the left side. High hands set-up, with a lot of moving parts to it. Displays a hitch in the load and tends to wrap the bat causing him to not get square at contact. Approach was pull only in batting practice round. Defensively, Haskell had difficulty timing the set up of hops leading to balls of the heel outfield the glove. Showed an average arm with accuracy on throws to first base.  He is a better runner underway.

Scouting Report

1/5/19 - SoCal Preseason All-State - Butcher turned in one of the best all-around performances on the day with an easy stroke from the left side and a confident round fielding ground balls on the infield. Currently 5-foot-10, 170-pounds he features wide-shoulders on a projectable frame that shows signs of carrying much more strength in the future. Setting up slightly open in a minor crouch, Butcher's hands load semi-deep down and back with a short stride. His strong bottom hand allows him to quickly work through the zone on a flat plane before culminating with a high, loose, one-handed finish. He showcased strength from gap to gap, and projects for more power in the future. On the infield, his strong, quick arm will allow him to stick on the left side of the diamond moving forward, and he showcased control of his body with efficient footwork. Given his balance and feel for the barrel at the plate, Butcher shows signs of progressing quickly, especially as his frame continues to fill out.
