Breaking down the short stops at the event at PRCC on November 2 - a fun group of players that are set to have breakout seasons for their high school teams.

2021 Brennon McNair from Magee is a South Alabama commit. We first saw him in July 2017 as 5-5 infielder with decent hands that weighed 120 lbs. Two years makes a difference as he wowed the scouts:

5-foot-11, 170-pound  athletic frame. At the plate, the right-handed hitter's 93 mph exit velocity showed his ability to drive the ball with power. In the infield, his position velocity was registered at 73 mph.  He showed off his speed at the event, running a swift 6.86 60-yard dash.

2022 Jonah Katsaboulas is a shortstop for Brandon High School. He clocked in at 77 MPH in his throw across the diamond, and overall impressed the scouts:

At the plate, the right-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 82 mph. Began in an open tall  stance with a small load, then used a short stride to start his swing. Displayed explosive bat speed, an uphill swing plane and extension on his finish. Gap to gap approach. In the infield, showed his ability to throw 77 mph across the diamond; has a twitchy exchange, athletic footwork and next level hands. Fields the ball out front while his movements laterally were athletic. Used a short arm action with a high ¾ slot. He recorded a 60 time of 7.13 at the event.

2021 Jonathan "Jon Jon" Burn from Stone High School swung the bat hard, hitting 85 MPH in exit velocity. His overall game showed well, drawing some comments:

6-foot-2, 170-pound  lean frame. In the box, the right-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 85 mph. Showed a level swing plane and quick bat speed, and he ended his swing with low finish. Line drive approach. In the infield, recorded position velocities up to 75 mph; has sure hands and smooth footwork. Used a short arm action and a high ¾ slot. During the event, he recorded a 60 time of 7.22.

2021 Cole Fletcher plays SS at St. Stanislaus and also pitches. His 85 MPH exit velocity was fun to watch and his overall performance was impressive:

6-foot, 165-pound  athletic frame. In the box, the right-handed hitter recorded an exit velocity of 85 mph. In the infield, showed ability to throw up to 75 mph across the field.  He recorded a 60 time of 7.04 at the event. On the mound, showing quick arm speed used a high ¾ angle with a short arm action. He is a drop-and-drive type pitcher. Has an athletic balance point and uphill shoulders. His fastball sat 82-83 mph. Showed the most control on his curveball (61-64 mph) when he stayed on top. Threw a some changeup (68-70) that had fading action.
