South Charlotte Panthers
Gage Lewis (INF/OF, Piedmont) attacks the ball early in count. Good bat speed and timing from a balanced stance. Showed intent to do damage at the plate.
Jake Hunter (1B/RHP, East Rowan) RHP worked 85-87 t88 downhill/ command both sides from a H3Q arm slot. Flashes of a power breaking ball at 74 with 11/5 shape and late bite. Imposing presence, 6-4, 225 repeated delivery well for his size. East Carolina recruit.
Maguire Craddock (RHP/OF, Hoggard) noticeably loud contact on a hard single to LF (stolen base), flashed quick hands. Lengthy limbs, body control will continue to improve with maturation. . Projectable RHP was up to 89, sitting 85-86 with an impressive 70% strike percentage.
Dylan Koontz (INF/RHP, Hough) Strong frame and good bat speed. Confident approach at the plate looking to drive the ball gap to gap. Side arm guy/ slinger work the FB in the low 80s. Slurvy breaking ball with occasional two tier break. Mostly side to side, tight action showed late break at times.
Vance Honeycutt (MIF, Salisbury) showed good bat to ball skills and quick hands with a hard single on day 3. High level athlete with Uber projectible frame. University of North Carolina recruit.
#2 - kept hands back on CB and hit a hard single back up the middle. Showed quick bat speed and good bat to ball skills. Would pick up a 2 RBI single later on.
LHP (Williams) - FB 78-81 with ASR and command. H3Q arm slot with balanced delivery. Clean separation. CH 69-71 deceptive w/ command. CB 68 Competitor, good make up.
Jacob Exum (RHP, Miller School) Tall frame, lean build. Substantial projection remaining. 3Q arm slot FB 76-79 t80. CB 67 big downer action, loose at times.
Carolina Stampede powered by up
#24 RHP - Tall Frame//projectable. Loose breaking ball shows potential at 65 mph with 11/5 shape. FB ranged from 78-81& topped at 82. H3Q arm slot. Missed to the arm side for stretches. Competitive makeup.
#6 RHP - FB worked consistently at 72, showed natural cut. Slurvy off speed at 63 with early break.
#6 OF - ambushed a fastball down left field line for a double. Athletic turns and good runner.
Evan Pratt (1B/RHP, Myers Park, 2022) FB topped out at 70 with cut from an OTT slot. Tall frame with length throughout proved tough to repeat the delivery. Landed closed created some angle to the plate.
#28 RHP - Good control attacking the zone with a fastball to both sides of the plate. Loose break to the curveball, throw with consistent feel for strikes. Thick frame strong lower half, not flashy but bull dog mentality. Throws a ton of strikes. 3Q arm action and short arm circle on the back side.
Upward Stars 15u
Eli Rigsby (1B/RHP, Pisgah, 2024) Young prospect showed some promise. Will need to address some issues with the body control as he gets stronger. OTT arm slot, was out of shape at times in the delivery and lost some balls gloveside. Stuff is competitive and will have a chance to improve.
Brandon Boling (SS/RHP, Boiling Springs, 2023) - FB ranged from 64-65 mph. Flashed one of the better CB in the younger group with tight rotation and nice downer action at times.
Mason White (SS, Chase, 2023) - showed great range on diving play on ball up the middle
Also good hands on a double play feed. Game tying single later on in the game.
Carolina Reds
Luke McCarter (OF, Clover, 2021) - good bat speed on single to LF (Stolen base). Good balance and quiet head. Developing pop, doubled to LCF in a later AB. Aggressive approach to balls in the zone.
Parker Callahan (RHP, York Comprehensive, 2021) - Slender frame w/ projection remaining. FB ranged from 76-78 with occasional wiggle to the arm side. CB showed tight downer tendencies with 11/5 shape at 66.
Cody Craig (RHP/OF, Legion Collegiate, 2021) - FB 84-86 with control to both sides of the plate. Would come back in in a later game and run the FB up to 88-89 with little control. Got himself into trouble in his second outing. CB 11/5 shape at 70-71 tight with depth. H3Q stiff separation/rigid delivery some deception present.
Ben Venables (MIF, Northwestern, 2021) - aggressive early in the count. Ready to swing when he steps in the box. Picked up multiple hits with loud contact on the barrel.
Team Kentucky
Michael Bannister (2B/SS, Madison Southern, 2021) - line drive double down LF line. Quick hands and good balance. Line drive bat path. SS shows good range and arm strength. Would later single up the middle (stolen base).
Ethan Fain (LHP/OF, Rockcastle Co., 2022) LHP small frame, limited projection remaining. Compact repeatable delivery, H3Q arm slot. Singled at the plate, flashed ability to keep the hands back and stay behind the ball.
Evan Hart (LHP/1B, Mercer County, 2023) - LHP 3Q tall lanky frame. Wirey delivery has tendency to fly open and lose balls to the arm side. Cleaning up timing and direction will produce a better ability to command. FB ranged from 77-78. CB 69 loopy early release leaves arm side
Good awareness on Pick off at first, move wasn’t great but timing was.
Noah Fain (2B/RHP, Rockcastle Co., 2022) - FB ranged from 81-82 t83 Tight breaking ball 67-70 with 11/5 shape. Gets a little quick at times with his tempo. Small stocky frame, good control down in zone/ attacks hitters. Gritty/ works with good tempo, quick compact delivery. Short inning/ bridge guy
Gavin Faulkner (LHP/1B, Frederick Douglas, 2022) - mid 70s FB with arm side (late) life topped at 79. CH with deception at 67 good arm action and matching hand speed. H3Q fluid delivery/clean separation. Commands both side of plate with fastball. Demeanor above his age
SBA
#24 RHP - Medium frame/ Falls off center line/ inconsistent release. FB 74-75
Elbow separation/Short Arm. Slow arm speed down on off speed early on, improved arm speed later and breaking ball was an effective pitch- slurve 10/4. Bulldog/Gutsy. Field position well.
#72 RHP - projectable frame. H3Q inconsistency on separation causing timing issues
75-78 with cut (early rotation/getting around baseball) 69 slurve little loose but shows potential
Full Throttle
#4 RHP - Stocky medium frame, Attacked the zone. Funky delivery/hesitation at separation/Short arc OTT release, FB ranged from 78-79 t80
Kaleb Johnson - (3B, South Effingham, 2023) Athletic build, H3Q arm slot with a compact repeatable delivery. Pounded the zone with upper 70s fastballs that topped at 80. Competitive/ not flashy.
CBC
Matthew Suppa (RHP/C, Audrey Kell, 2022) Smaller frame. FB 73-75 from a H3Q slot. Gets around fastball at times, erratic control for stretches. Gutsy complete game
Jack Killelea (C, Legion Collegiate, 2022) hard single, good bat to ball skills. Slightly uphill path, wants to work the middle of the field. Was on time for everything this weekend. C with good bend in the hips. Receives the ball well with strong wrist and controls the edges of the zone.
Rise
#14 RHP - projectable frame with a H3Q arm action. FB 79-82, CH 70, CB 67 tight/inconsistent control. Gets a little quick to plate at times misses arm side, stuff has potential to develop as he matures.
Zachary Barco (OF, Cosby, 2021) good balance and timing on fly out to CF
Kept hands back on CB for a double down LF line. Quick bat speed, calm approach with controlled aggression.
BLBA Sterling
Brayden Dilday (RHP, West Guilford, 2023) medium frame/lanky build with room to fill out the frame with future development. FB 69-71 t73. Hides the ball well and creates some deception. Slurvey CB at 66 with loose action and good control.
Marcus Bradshaw (SS/2B, Prince George, 2023) - athletic profile with medium build. Good runner, athletic around the bases. Picked up a triple early on in the tournament and an infield single on day 3. Two stolen bases after reaching on an infield single.
#28 LHP - FB 78-80 t82 late ASR from a H3Q arm slot. CB 64 gets around it at times and is loose out of the hand. Repeated the delivery well, good athlete fielded his position on a PFP opportunity.
#6 RHP - FB 79-81 with unforced cut t82 CB slurvy action at 70. Will have potential to be a quality offering as the arm gets quicker.
